Fair Justice Summit urges criminal justice reform advocates, policy makers and community members to spring into action
On July 22, the Coalition for Public Safety, (CPS) teamed up with #cut50, a bipartisan organization whose goal is to reduce America’s prison by 50 percent over the next 10 years, to hold a Summit that is bound to be recognized as one of the most intense driving forces to overhaul America’s unfair and ineffective criminal justice system.

The Fair Justice Summit, held in Washington, D.C., centered on putting into action the myriad of reform measures that the CPS and #cut50 worked diligently to create.

Writing for the Huffington Post, Christine Leonard the Coalition for Public Safety Executive Director, explained The Fair Sentencing and Fair Chances Campaign that the Summit is based on, and highlighted some of the esteemed attendees’ comments on ending mass incarceration. Leonard’s article also includes a video of the Summit for those who were unable to attend. Read Leonard’s full article and watch the video here.
